As governments around the world seek to strengthen defense innovation, new mechanisms are emerging to connect defense needs with leading private-sector technologies. This session brings together leaders from the United States, one of the world’s most advanced dual-use innovation ecosystems, including a former Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) leader; In-Q-Tel, the strategic investor that helps signal defense demand to the market; and Cap Vista, the strategic investment arm of Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), which serves a similar role.
They will be joined by EdgeCortix, a Japanese dual-use fabless semiconductor company backed by In-Q-Tel and recognized by DIU through a Success Memorandum. Drawing on concrete examples of public-private collaboration across countries, the discussion will examine global dual-use innovation trends and the outlook for dual-use startups.
