EDGECORTIX PRESS RELEASE

EdgeCortix Joins the Global Semiconductor Alliance

San Jose, Calif. (August 18, 2022) – EdgeCortix®, the innovative fabless semiconductor design company with a software first approach, focused on delivering class-leading compute efficiency and latency for edge artificial intelligence (AI) inference is pleased to announce that they have become a member of Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), the voice of the global semiconductor industry.

"We are very pleased to be joining the GSA, we believe that participation in this important semiconductor ecosystem will be a catalyst for building important strategic partnerships.", said Sakyasingha Dasgupta, CEO and Founder of EdgeCortix, “We look forward to engaging in thought leadership on energy efficiency at the edge, while collaborating with alliance members to expand EdgeCortix’s reach within the broader semiconductor industry.”

EdgeCortix was founded in July 2019 with the radical idea of applying a software-first approach while designing an artificial intelligence (AI) specific processor architecture from the ground up. Overcoming the fundamental mismatch between the current generation of AI software for deep neural networks and off-the-shelf hardware processors drives our core mission at EdgeCortix. The company’s mission is to bring near cloud-level performance to all forms of devices at the edge, delivering orders of magnitude better energy efficiency and processing speed, while drastically reducing customer’s operating costs. The Dynamic Neural Accelerator® (DNA) IP was invented with this mission in mind. It forms a tight coupling between today's neural networks and an underlying domain-specific hardware for seamlessly processing these networks. Backed by EdgeCortix’s patented technology, our strong team and our customer-first culture, we are driven to become the world’s leading fabless semiconductor design company specializing in low-power AI system software and processor IP design focused on efficiency at the edge.

“We are very pleased to have EdgeCortix join the GSA,” said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and CEO of GSA. “EdgeCortix brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the Alliance and we look forward to their contributions to our industry events, interest groups and resources. As the GSA gains new members, we are ultimately supporting and enhancing the global semiconductor ecosystem.”

As a member of the GSA, EdgeCortix will benefit from the unique neutral platform provided for collaboration, where global executives may interface and innovate with peers, partners and customers to accelerate industry growth and maximize return on invested and intellectual capital.
